David Beats Goliath began when vocalist, George and guitarist Dan met in Argentina while they were travelling around South America, both were out of money and took to busking (illegally) around Buenos Aires. Armed with two terrible travel-worn guitars and three songs, (Beatles, Bob Dylan and Bob Marley) hidden in the metro from authorities, the two would quit once they had earned enough pesos for a bottle of grape, a packet of smokes, a bulb of garlic and some spaghetti.

Years passed and after a brief stint of writing together, George moved to Iceland where he went on stage after years without a public performance, the songs went down well and he moved back to Birmingham, UK to form David Beats Goliath with Dan and old schoolmate Jon Coulles. After writing a few tracks together, George visited family in Dubai, where he saw renowned double bass player, Lakshmi playing with his band. They consequently met up and messed around with the David Beats Goliath tunes that had been written and decided Lakshmi had to get his basslines onto the imminent EP recordings.

Now you can hear inspiration of Beatles, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros to name but a few in David Beat's Goliath's music. Their EP which was released 2012 clocked up over 800,000 plays on Soundcloud alone receiving mass media coverage including the lead single 'Maisy and Neville' being selected for Make a Wish TV commercial Austria, directed by Oscar winning director Stefan Ruzowitzsky.
